'Z Nation' Zombie TV Series to Film in Spokane

The zombies are coming. And they’re bringing work for nearly 200 actors, 1,300 extras and more than 100 crew members.

The new SyFy Network television series “Z Nation” will begin shooting in Spokane next month. The network has ordered 13 episodes, all of which will be filmed in the Spokane area this spring and summer and are scheduled to begin airing in the fall.

All this, said North by Northwest co-founder Rich Cowan, is a game changer for the Spokane film industry.

“We’ve done about 50 feature films, but a television series, 13-episode television series, is 12,000 worker days of employment here,” Cowan said Wednesday. “These are union jobs that pay pension and health care.”

Zombie Extras Pass through Burslem Streets

Zombies descended upon Burslem yesterday after around 600 people were transformed to become extras in a Potteries horror film.

Hundreds of people, from all over the country, queued up outside the Duke William Pub in St John’s Square to become a member of the undead for a scene in the Mothertown.

The horror comedy, directed and produced by John Williams, from Wolstanton, tells the story of a zombie apocalypse through the eyes of different characters across Stoke-on-Trent.

H1Z1 Discussed Among Sony Executives

During an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session this week on Reddit, Sony Online Entertainment president John Smedley addressed similarities between their upcoming zombie MMO, H1Z1 and Bohemia Interactive's DayZ.

He admitted the two games share things in common, even calling some members of the H1Z1 team "fans and contributors" of the ArmA 2 mod.

"Not going to give some politically correct dodgy BS answer," Smedley said. "H1Z1 is survival in a zombie apocalypse game. So is DayZ. They have made a brilliant game (first might I add). They have a great vision for it and [you] can count myself and most of the people on our team as fans and contributors."

Isabel Adrian is attached to the Beauty of Decay

isabeladria

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Designer, TV host, model, and fashion expert Isabel Adrian is attached to play a major role in The Beauty of Decay, an original TV zombie series.

Adrian is represented by CAA.

Principle writing team members include Two time Emmu Award Winner Joe Pepitone in New York, Susie Kahlich in France as well as LA based writer M. Werning in LA. Werning describes this ground-breaking project as “a new way to look at a timeless genre” in which Adrian will play the role of a mysterious being who helps guide the course of people’s lives throughout the series. The creative team, with industry veterans and multiple award winners Ron Peters (The Wolf of Wall Street), Larry Swerdlove, and Lindsay Fulvia (CSI) on-board, have worked “to tell a story that transcends the usual ‘good guy/bad guy’ cliché typical to a story of this nature and create characters that were just living their lives guided by the choices they’d made along the way.”

Co-directed by Emmy-nominated actor and director Andy Lauer (Caroline in the City, Iron Man 3), The Beauty of Decay also stars Best Actress award-winner Juliana Pitt (Jane) and multiple award winning actor/stunt-man Marvin Campbell (28 Days Later, The Bourne Ultimatum).

Filming for the series will take place from May through June, 2014 in Austin, TX and Santa Fe, NM. Those who wish to contribute to or participate in this project may check out its Indiegogo Campaign found here.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

What do Isabel Adrian (represented by CAA), Sofie Kvelland (a Norwegian born actress, ambassador for Justin Bieber’s Believe), and Kayla Greenspan (of “Seek Vintage” fame), DaNaH and Vincent Ross have in common, besides a combined total of over 750,000 instagram and social media followers?

The four will be “elemental” features in a ground-breaking new TV zombie series, The Beauty of Decay. This TV series offers “a new way to look at a timeless genre,” says lead writer Maggie Werning, and works “to tell a story that transcends the usual ‘good guy/bad guy’ cliché … and create characters that were just living their lives guided by the choices they’d made along the way.”

Adrian, Kvelland, and Greenspan will portray different “elemental beings” who help guide the course of people’s lives throughout the series. All three have a background in art and fashion and will each design their own clothing for the series from non-commercial forest material such as leaves and flowers.

The four join a creative team that includes award-winning writers Ron Peters (The Wolf of Wall Street), Larry Swerdlove, Joe Pepitone, and Lindsay Fulvia (CSI), Emmy-nominated actor and director Andy Lauer (Caroline in the City, Iron Man 3), and Best Actress award-winner Juliana Pitts (Jane) and multiple award winning actor/stunt-man Marvin Campbell (28 Days Later, The Bourne Ultimatum).
Like any good zombie show, there are plenty of opportunities to appear as part of the undead hordes. Those interested should check out The Beauty of Decay’s Indiegogo (link here) for more information.
